Features of Axiomtek Network Appliance

LAN Bypass

Bypass functions are implemented through

the hardware by using watchdog timers. If the

software fails to reset the watch dog timer, it

interconnects the LAN ports by bypassing software

functions running on the device. The interruption

of network connectivity could cause a tremendous

loss in business. Therefore, a method for out-of-

band communication should be considered as a

backup solution. Such out-of-band communications

are enabled through a solution known as "LAN

bypass." Axiomtek offers network appliance

platforms with LAN bypass features by using

"latch relay" and commands through a CPLD.

Intel-based NIC Modules

Connectivity is crucial for networking. Axiomtek

has developed a series of NIC modules and offered

a wide range of Intel-based solutions. This enables

flexibility for all of Axiomtek’s network appliances.

module designs for greater flexibility and easier

in a 1U form factor to obtain the best cost of

ownership.

Expansion Capability

The network appliance platforms support different

types of expansion slots (PCI Express Mini Card,

MiniPCI, PCI, PCI-X, and PCIe) for applications

needing various peripheral cards; such as VPN

encryption module, wireless module or other

specify adapter cards.
